rizzoliisles616smallI’m so happy that Rizzoli & Isles is back tonight with its season premiere! Last season was an emotional one. Jane was pregnant but lost the baby when she was hurt protecting a teenage girl during a case. Frost was killed in a car crash (Sadly, Lee Thompson Young committed suicide about midway through season 4 airings.), leaving the team and especially Jane to grieve. Maura dealt with a lot of family issues, including once again seeing her father, Paddy. Korsak bought the bar the group always went to, and then Angela got a job as manager – and was a natural at it. Hopefully this season will be just as exciting but a little less heartbreaking!

On tonight’s episode, “The Platform,” when it appears one of their own shot an unarmed man on a busy Boston subway platform, the team must fight to find the real killer while clearing the detective’s name. But with Internal Affairs breathing down their necks, it becomes clear that the circumstances surrounding this shooting are anything but clear.

To see who’s under scrutiny, tune in to TNT at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing America’s Got Talent, Chrisley Knows Best, Junk Food Flip, The Little Couple, Stitchers, Chopped, Clipped, Royal Pains, & I Can Do That.

murderinthefirst615smallI have to admit that I didn’t watch any of the first season of Murder in the First, even though I love Taye Diggs. I’m not a huge fan of the concept of a single case lasting all season. But when I read the description of this season’s case, I thought I might give it a shot, so I watched last week’s premiere, and I have to say…I loved it. I love the cast – Taye Diggs, Kathleen Robertson, and Ian Anthony Dale, especially. And the case… Heart-stoppingly frightening. Two high school boys shooting up a bus full of students and anyone who got in their way? Scary as hell for a mom of a 17-year-old. 🙁 One of the boys was shot but he’s now under guard in the hospital, and police all over the city are now searching like crazy for the other, who is bat-shit crazy.

On tonight’s episode, “Schizofrenzy,” tensions mount as the manhunt for the missing shooter proves to be more difficult than expected. Terry is promoted to acting Lieutenant, which he soon discovers comes with responsibilities more taxing than he anticipated.

To see what responsibilities Terry faces and how the manhunt goes, tune in to TNT at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing So You Think You Can Dance, Major Crimes, Guilty Pleasures, & Top 5 Restaurants.

gameofthrones614smallYou can’t really go wrong if you just turn on your TV tonight and leave it on HBO… They’ve got such an amazing Sunday lineup!

Last week on Game of Thrones, there were a couple big events. Stannis ordered his own daughter, Princess Shireen, to be burned alive as a sacrifice. In Braavos, Arya decided not to complete her mission of killing the Thin Man and instead followed Meryn Trant to a brothel, where she discovered his proclivity toward young girls. In Dorne, Jamie and Bronn were set free and allowed to take Myrcella back to King’s Landing, but her betrothed was to join them. And the Meereneese fighting pit broke into chaos when the Sons of the Harpy revealed themselves and started attacking Daenerys and her subjects. Just as it looked like all hope was lost, Drogon flew in to save the day, breathing fire on the attackers and letting Daenerys fly away on his back.

Tonight is the season finale, and there are so many storylines to address! Will we see more of King’s Landing? Will King Tommen stop what’s happening to his wife and Cersei, will Jamie get there in time, or is this the end for one or both of them? Will Arya go undercover at the brothel to assassinate Meryn Trant? Will we see more of Jon Snow at the wall? The final episode of the season is usually used for moving around the chess pieces to set things up for the next season, so I doubt we will get the battle for Winterfell tonight. But it’s been an entertaining season, and I look forward to seeing where things are left for next year.

On tonight’s episode, “Mother’s Mercy,” Stannis is on the march in the Season 5 finale. Meanwhile, Cersei seeks forgiveness; Jon faces a new challenge; and Daenerys finds herself surrounded by strangers.

Both of HBO’s Sunday scripted comedies also close out their seasons tonight. Both shows had trials of sorts last week, and tonight we’ll see the fallout of those events. Will the Silicon Valley guys lose Pied Piper now that Richard admitted to using a Hooli computer to test his software? And who will take the blame for all the misdeeds that came to light during the hearing on Veep? Both series have had stellar seasons, and I can’t wait to see how they end!

Catch the entire season finale lineup on HBO starting at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording American Odyssey, Golan the Insatiable, Food Network Star, Halt and Catch Fire, Nurse Jackie, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

darkmattersmallI’m cautiously excited about tonight’s series premiere of Dark Matter because in some ways, it reminds me about Firefly, although it might be a little darker, a little heavier. (Next week’s premiere, Killjoys, also reminds me of Firefly, and it’s definitely lighter than this one.) Crew members of an abandoned spaceship are woken from stasis…but none of them remember who they are or how they got there. They have to work together to survive, overcoming threats, vengeance, betrayal, and hidden secrets. Based on the graphic novel Dark Matter (both it and the show were created by Joseph Mallozzi & Paul Mullie), it stars Melissa O’Neil (Broadway’s Les Miserables), Marc Bendavid (Bitten), Anthony Lemke (White House Down), Alex Mallari Jr. (Robocop), Jodelle Ferland (Twilight), Roger Cross (The Strain), & Zoie Palmer (Lost Girl).

On tonight’s episode, “Episode 1,” the crew of a derelict spaceship awakens from stasis with no memories of who they are.

Check out the premiere tonight on Syfy at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Love, Lust or Run, & American Diner Revival.

bones611smallLast week on Bones, Booth, Brennan, and the squints had to try to find the murderer of an ex-con and biker gang member turned yoga instructor. He’d been in a motorcycle crash, which meant he couldn’t ride as often or as long as he used to, and after that and prison, he’d turned his life around. Unfortunately for him, his newfound generosity is what got him killed — when he decided to help a fellow ex-con and biker gang member who was trying to make a fresh start and needed money, the victim’s girlfriend and co-owner of the yoga studio killed him. On the personal side of things, Booth is working hard to stay “sober” and earn Brennan’s trust back, and it’s working… She is slowly thawing. And Angela and Hodgins made the decision that they were going to leave the Jeffersonian and move to Paris.

Tonight is the season finale, and I’m very unhappy about that. So many questions… Will Brennan finally forgive Booth and ask him to move back home? Will Angela and Hodgins actually leave the Jeffersonian? Surely not. The show will be back next season, and I can’t imagine it without any members of the team. (I have seen the finale, so I know what happens with all the characters, and I will only say that it’s a great — and surprising — finale.)

On tonight’s episode, “The Next in the Last,” when the Jeffersonian team discovers remains of a victim, and elements of the crime scene point to a possible protégé of serial killer Christopher Pelant, they must revisit their prior work on Pelant while tracing new clues that will hopefully lead them to the copycat killer. Meanwhile, Angela is skeptical about Hodgins’ and her decision to move to Paris and Brennan and Booth contemplate options outside of the Jeffersonian and FBI.

Find out if/how Pelant is tied to the new victim and what Angela/Hodgins & Booth/Brennan decide tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Beat Bobby Flay.
