Jenny’s Choice
Everyone knows I love procedurals, so when I learned last season that there would be a new CSI spinoff, entitled CSI: Cyber, I was more than thrilled. I was even more excited when I learned that it would be headed up by Patricia Arquette, whom I adored on Medium. The show is inspired by real-life Cyber Psychologist Mary Aiken, and Patricia Arquette stars as Special Agent Avery Ryan, who heads the Cyber Crime Division of the FBI. The CCD solves cases that “start in the mind, live online and play out in the real world.†The rest of the cast is great too: James Van Der Beek, Peter MacNicol, Charley Koontz, Shad Moss, & Hayley Kiyoko. I especially love Peter MacNicol and James Van Der Beek, but the whole cast is fun to watch.
I’ve seen several episode, including tonight’s pilot, and I really enjoyed them. The cases are interesting, different, and fun. You get some of the CSI feel but combine that with Criminal Minds (especially the Garcia scenes, unsurprisingly).
On tonight’s episode, “Kidnapping 2.0,†Special Agent Avery Ryan and her team of FBI cyber analysts investigate a case of hacked baby monitors.
Check out the premiere tonight on CBS at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing Melissa & Joey, The Goldbergs, Criminal Minds, Modern Family, Mystery Diners, black-ish, Wahlburgers, & Donnie Loves Jenny.
