shooter1129smallUSA Network recently launched the new series Shooter, which is based on the same novel as the 2007 film of the same name. Ex-Marine and expert marksman Bob Lee Swagger (Ryan Phillippe, Secrets and Lies) was living a quiet lakeside life with his wife and daughter when he was approached by longtime friend/Secret Service agent Capt. Isaac Johnson (Omar Epps, House). A sniper had announced his intention to assassinate the president, and Isaac wanted Bob Lee’s help to prevent it. However, things went wrong and the Ukrainian president ended up dead, and Bob Lee quickly realized he had been set up to take the fall. In last week’s episode, Isaac arranged for someone to kill Bob Lee in prison, but he thwarted this attempt and managed to escape, making his way to the home of the mother of an deceased military buddy. However, Isaac wasn’t far behind, so he grabbed some money and a motorcycle and took off. He then made a call to his wife Julie, knowing the Feds were listening, and told her, “I’m going to do what I do best. I’m going to hunt.”

So now Bob Lee is out for justice — to clear his name and kill those responsible for the assassination and setting him up. Why was Bob Lee chosen as the patsy? Why did Isaac turn on his friend, and who is he working for? Was the US president really the target, or was the Ukrainian present the real target the entire time? Things are starting to get really exciting, and I’m anxious to see what happens next!

On tonight’s episode, “Musa Qala,” Bob Lee reaches out to Nadine while evading his pursuers; and Isaac juggles his double life while trying to find Bob Lee.

See what Bob Lee learns from Nadine tonight on USA Network at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Middle, American Housewife, Fresh Off the Boat, The Real O’Neals, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Brooklyn Nine-Nine, New Girl, Scream Queens, The Flash, No Tomorrow, Sweet/Vicious, and Good Behavior.

supergirl1128smallTonight, The CW kicks off its epic four-night “Heroes v Aliens” crossover event, beginning with Supergirl. Last week, Mon-El had been abducted by Lillian Luthor, and when Kara tried to save him, she was confronted by the real Hank, who had been turned into a cyborg by CADMUS. In her efforts to save Mon-El, Kara lost her powers. Lillian utilized this opportunity to collect a sample of Kara’s blood and then took off, leaving Kara and Mon-El in their cells to die. However, Jeremiah Danvers made a surprise re-appearance just in time to rescue them. Meanwhile, Guardian was being blamed for evil happenings in the city, and James had to clear his alter-ego’s name; and J’onn discovered that M’gann was really a White Martian (the Green Martians have a longstanding feud with the White Martians) and that the blood she transfused into him will eventually transform him into a White Martian as well.

What does Lillian plan to do with Kara’s blood? How will becoming a White Martian change J’onn, and is it too late to stop the process? I’m really excited for this week’s massive 4-series crossover. These crossovers are the main reason why I’m still watching all of these series. In the past we’ve seen Supergirl interact with Barry, but that was in Earth 3, so I’m curious to see how her world will collide with the other series. I’m also interested in what this “Heroes v Aliens” title means, especially given that Kara is herself an alien. The action starts tonight and then continues the following three nights with The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

On tonight’s Supergirl midseason finale/crossover premiere, “Medusa,” a superhero crossover event begins with Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon from The Flash seeking Kara’s help with an alien invasion; at the same time, Eliza comes to town to celebrate Thanksgiving with her daughters, which seems like the perfect opportunity for Alex to come out to her mother. Meanwhile, Winn and James consider telling Kara the truth about the Guardian; and Kara wants to team up with Lena Luthor to combat a deadly virus unleashed by CADMUS.

Check out the start of the crossover event tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Timeless, Gotham, Lucifer, Jane the Virgin, and People of Earth.

ncis1122smallLast week’s NCIS was a sad one, case-wise. The witness in a murder case was a former Marine, but when the team looked into him as a suspect before they knew he was just a witness, it caught the attention of Immigration, who came for him, as the guy had never formally become a citizen after moving from Mexico with his mother as a young child. He assumed like many do that when he served in the military, citizenship was automatically granted. So Bishop and Torres were sent to get him from where he’d been spotted and picked up and bring him back to NCIS to turn over to Immigration. He begged to visit his mother first, so Bishop and Torres agreed, even lying to his mother about who they were and where he was going, saying he was rejoining the Marines and being sent overseas again, rather than being deported. I didn’t really understand that… What, is he just never going to tell his mother?? Seemed a little silly, but whatever. I’m hoping that we’ll revisit this story line again later, with Gibbs finding a way to help the guy and bring him back legally to the US.

On a personal front, Tony’s father was in town to sublet Tony’s apartment, since he was staying in Paris with his daughter for an unspecified length of time. Senior couldn’t figure out who to give the apartment to, since McGee, Bishop, and Abby wanted to sublet it. In the end, he and Jimmy drew names, and to everyone’s surprise, Torres won the draw. He gave it to McGee & Delilah. I guess that’s fair, given that McGee and Tony worked together and were friends for years, but…whatever. 🙂 It was fun to see McGee, Bishop, and Abby compete to win Senior’s affection. McGee tried to appeal to his romantic/family side, showing him a photo album he’d put together of himself and Delilah, telling him about their engagement. Bishop wrote a long, wordy essay. And Abby tried to show him how much she loved spending time with him by having him come to the lab, etc.

On tonight’s episode, “Enemy Combatant,” after NCIS Agent Bishop is sent to Gitmo to gather evidence for a Navy chaplain murder case, she questions her previous work at the NSA. Also, Bishop’s brothers, George, John, and Robert (Ryan Doom, Jesse Bradford, and Jesse Johnson), visit for the Thanksgiving holiday and pester her co-workers to find out who she is dating.

Find out why Bishop questions her work at the NSA tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

Tonight TBS kicks off its new dark comedy Search Party, which centers around a group of self-absorbed twenty-somethings who find themselves mixed up in the mystery surrounding the disappearance of one of their former college classmates, Chantal. Dory (Alia Shawkat, Arrested Development) feels like a doormat – she’s got a thankless job working as an assistant to a rich housewife and is trapped in a relationship with boyfriend Drew (John Reynolds, Stranger Things), who only cares about his own needs. Despite having little memory of the missing girl, Dory makes it her mission to find Chantal in hopes of adding some sort of meaning and purpose to her life. She tries to rile up her friends to help with the search party, but actress Portia (Meredith Hagner, Royal Pains), narcissist Elliott (John Early, Your Main Thing), and boyfriend Drew seem more concerned with their images and dramatically posting to social media about how Chantal’s disappearance has affected them, rather than actually doing something to help. But this search party could be a way for Dory to get closer to journalist ex-boyfriend Julian (Brandon Michael Hall), who still makes her light up when he enters the room.

TBS will be airing two episodes of the 10-episode first season every night this week from 11pm-midnight (ET/PT). In addition, all 10 episodes will be made available for binging via On Demand. I checked out the first episode, and while I didn’t find the show laugh-out-loud funny, I did find some humorous moments, and it made me curious to check out more to learn what’s really going on with Chantal’s disappearance and to see if any of Dory’s self-obsessed friends have any redeeming qualities.

On tonight’s first episode, “The Mysterious Disappearance of Chantal Witherbottom,” when Dory discovers that her friend, Chantal, has gone missing, she becomes obsessed with finding out what happened, even though her boyfriend, Drew, and friends, Elliott and Portia, couldn’t care less.

Then, in “The Woman Who Knew Too Much,” Dory begins to doubt whether she saw Chantal the night before, but an offbeat realtor claims that she has the proof that Dory is looking for.

Check out the first two episodes tonight on TBS at 11/10c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Man With a Plan, Timeless, Gotham, Lucifer, Supergirl, Jane the Virgin, and People of Earth.

The Librarians Episode 301 "And the Rise of Chaos" 5/6/16 IMG_8411I’m so excited because tonight is the season premiere of The Librarians on TNT. On the last season finale, the group had their hands full battling Prospero, who was wreaking havoc with modern technology because he wanted to create an idyllic forest utopia, no matter the cost. To stop him, Flynn and Baird had to travel back in time to 1611, while the others battled him in the present time. Fortunately, they were able to defeat him, which meant the season ended on a high note. The team is working together well, and at least in the first few episodes, Flynn is still working side by side with them. It’ll be interesting to see how much of the season Noah Wyle is around for!

On tonight’s episode, “And the Rise of Chaos,” when the Egyptian God of Chaos inhabits a human body, he attempts to release Pure Evil into the world, thus beginning the final battle of Good vs. Evil. In order to stop him, the Librarians must decipher a series of clues within a science museum, including a mysterious warning spoken by exhibit mannequins that have come to life.

See if the Librarians can stop Pure Evil from taking over tonight on TNT at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, NCIS: LA, Holiday Baking Championship, & Clash of the Grandmas.
