brooklyn99517smallLast week’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine was a lot of fun. I love seeing Jake work closely with Holt. And of course, throw Charles into the mix, and his bromance with Jake is always funny. Jake was positive from the beginning that the man’s murder had to do with the 21-million that had been stolen years before. In the end, he had the wrong bad guy pegged as the killer, but the motive was correct, and they caught the killer and recovered the money. Of course, that was what Madeline Wuntch wanted, as it gave her the excuse to “promote” Holt to head of the Public Relations Department — perfect for someone with Captain Holt’s effusive personality. *snort* In the B story, Rosa, Amy, & Gina helped Terry when a class from the magnet school Terry was trying to get his twins into came and visited the precinct. Although it didn’t go as smoothly as they would’ve liked, in the end, the kids learned a lot and Terry’s twins got off the wait list for the magnet school preschool.

Questions going into tonight’s season finale: Will we get any progress on the Jake/Amy front? Will Captain Holt’s “promotion” stick? I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and I could answer those for you, but I won’t. 😉 I will say it’s another great ep, so don’t miss it!

On tonight’s episode, “Johnny and Dora,” Jake and Amy go undercover to catch Brooklyn’s most notorious identity thief, and the case brings them closer together — very close. Meanwhile, the entire precinct is caught off-guard when one of their own says goodbye to the Nine-Nine. Kyra Sedgwick & Nick Cannon guest star.

To see what happens with Jake & Amy as well as who says goodbye, tune in to FOX at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Spring Baking Championship, & Cutthroat Kitchen.

grimm515smallTonight, the fourth season of Grimm comes to a close, but fear not, there will be another spooky season coming in the fall. In the last few episodes, Juliette fully gave in to her evil Hexenbiest side. First she tried to turn Nick’s gun on Monroe, who managed to just narrowly avoid getting shot. And later, Juliette sent a fake distress message to Nick’s mother to lure her back in town with Adalind’s child. Once the trap was sprung, some men grabbed and killed Nick’s mother, leaving her head in a box, and took the child for the Royals. Meanwhile, the rest of the gang discovered that Renard was being possessed by Jack the Ripper, who had hitched a ride when he was being resurrected. However, they managed to kill the unwanted passenger without harming Renard. And Trubel made a surprise return to town at Monroe’s request.

Juliette is almost at the point of no redemption to me — I know she can’t control her actions, but she has become pure evil! I really hope they find a way to suppress/eliminate her Hexenbiest, but I suspect that may have to wait until next season. Will Nick (rightly) blame what happened to his mother on Juliette? How did that child get so big so fast, and will we see the birth of Adalind’s latest baby tonight? Why has Trubel returned to town, and is she back for good? It should be one exciting season finale tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Cry Havoc,” Trubel helps Nick, who is hell-bent on getting revenge on the Royals after making a horrifying discovery in the Season 4 finale; at the same time, Juliette’s alliance continues to lead her down a dark path.

See if Nick gets revenge and if Juliette gets any less evil tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Amazing Race and Childrens Hospital.

bones514smallLast week, we got a double episode of Bones, and it was definitely double the treat. First, Bones was confronted with a case that reminded her of her own childhood when a teenage girl’s body was found and it seemed that bullying was the cause…and it was, but not in the way that her bullies actually killed her. She killed herself and made it seem like they had done it. It’s very sad that things like that happen, that bullying is so bad that kids feel like they don’t want to live. As a parent, that’s one of the scariest things we ever have to go through, watching our children get bullied and hoping our children are strong enough to get through it. The second episode was all about the case of the baker ex-cons and the ritualistic killings. Alex Rockwell, whom the team helped put away for the killings, was less than a day from being executed when Brennan found what she thought was evidence to prove he was actually innocent of the crime. She, Booth, and the rest of the squints worked their butts off to find the actual proof they needed, and they did it just in time. Rockwell was saved only moments before the lethal injection would’ve killed him, and Booth and Aubrey were able to arrest the real killer…none other than the bakery owner, Roger Flender. My heart just ached for Rockwell as he accepted his fate and wrote a letter to his son. I was very glad the team was able to solve the case just in time.

That brings us to this week… A few episodes ago, Arastoo left Washington DC for Iran, where his brother was dying. He told Cam that he had to go, as he didn’t want his brother dying alone. Cam was terrified for him, as she knew it wouldn’t be safe for him and he might possibly be arrested. Tonight’s episode is very exciting, as it goes back to that story line when Booth and Cam go over to Iran to rescue him when things become complicated and scary. Plus, Booth’s gambling story line comes back to haunt him and Brennan, which I’m both looking forward to and not! I’ve seen the ep and loved it. It really was everything I’d hoped for and more, but I’m SO GLAD it isn’t the finale! *laugh*

On tonight’s episode, “The Murder in the Middle East,” when a powerful member of the Iranian parliament kidnaps Arastoo (guest star Pej Vahdat) to have him aid in a murder case, Booth and Cam head to Iran, and the rest of the Jeffersonian team must race against the clock to help expose the killer. Meanwhile, Brennan learns the truth about Booth’s growing gambling habit, and she turns to Aubrey for help to keep her and Christine safe from her husband’s menacing bookie.

See if Booth and Cam can save Arastoo and if Aubrey can keep Bones and Christine safe tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Beat Bobby Flay & Lip Sync Battle.

themiddle513smallTonight, another season of The Middle comes to a close, but fear not, ABC has already announced that the Hecks will return next season. Last week’s timely episode was Mother’s Day themed. The kids struggled to find a perfect (and cheap) gift for their mom — every time they thought they were finished with their shopping, there was some new hiccup that sent them back to the store. Meanwhile, Mike was annoyed by the process involved in making reservations for the afternoon tea Frankie wanted. And Frankie didn’t really like the answers she heard when she asked the kids what they didn’t like about her parenting style.

The Middle is a fun, solid, family-friendly comedy that I don’t hear enough people talking about. Sue and Axl are the highlight of the series for me — they are always so funny, and I really enjoy their love/hate sibling dynamic. I’m looking forward to seeing how this further evolves next season when they are attending the same college. But first Sue has to graduate high school, and it will undoubtedly not go as planned in some crazy way. ABC’s hilarious 2-hour Wednesday comedy block is always one of the highlights of my TV week, and The Middle is a big part of that.

On tonight’s episode, “The Graduate,” Sue prepares for her graduation and worries the day won’t go perfectly. Meanwhile, Brick gets the opportunity to skip a year in school; and Axl grows concerned about the fun summer pictures Devin posted on social media.

To see if Sue can graduate without a problem, tune in to ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, The Goldbergs, Modern Family, black-ish, Arrow, Supernatural, Young & Hungry, and Big Time in Hollywood, FL.

ncis512smallLast week’s NCIS was very emotional. The team, along with Ned Dorneget, was on the search for the group that is recruiting children and teenagers. The episode before that, Gibbs was almost killed when one of those teens blew up himself and a thankfully empty (after Gibbs got the passengers out) bus. The team figured out the group was on the hunt for S-bombs on the black market. McGee and Ned went to Egypt to try to help find the terrorist group’s leader. Unfortunately, that’s where the other six bombs were planted at the hotel they were at, and as Ned was trying to get people away from the hotel, he wasn’t able to stop a man from tripping the laser, which blew the bombs…killing Ned.

Ned was far from my favorite character, but he’d grown up so much from the time he joined the team temporarily. Being on the NCIS cyber team had done him a lot of good. When McGee flew home with his body, we met Ned’s mother…who, it turns out, is CIA. She told Gibbs that it was time to get these guys, so with her and the CIA’s help, The Calling is going down, I can only imagine — but will they take anyone else down with them? Tonight’s season finale should answer that question, but I have my fingers crossed!

On tonight’s episode, “Neverland,” NCIS feverishly investigates the Calling, a global terrorist group that is recruiting teens via the Internet, following a deadly bombing overseas that resulted in Ned Dorneget’s death. Mimi Rogers guest stars as CIA Officer Joanna Teague, Ned’s mother.

Find out if the team can take down the Calling tonight on CBS at 8/7c.
