bigbrother2015smallBig Brother season 17 is off to a great start. On Thursday, Jace became the first player to be evicted, and I can’t say that I will miss him. We also learned that it is Liz who is playing the game with her sister as part of the Twin Twist. Kathy Griffin was introduced as this week’s BB Takeover host, and she hinted to the houseguests that one of them will receive a “Last Laugh” power for eviction night. This power will give its bearer the ability to prevent 3 people from voting at the next eviction ceremony — this could be very interesting! The episode ended with the Head of Household competitions, with Becky winning round one and Shelli winning round two.

I am getting really sick of Audrey — she reminds me of the guy last season who took it upon himself to keep inviting more and more people into his alliance without talking with the others. She is way too paranoid and a loose cannon. She needs to go. Also, Da’Vonne went a little crazy last week, picking a fight with Clay after he asked why she was creepily wandering around the house. Wouldn’t mind seeing her gone as well. One person I do want to stick around is Liz. I would love to see her successfully complete the 5 weeks of the Twin Twist. I would be so stressed out trying to pass myself off as my twin brother. I don’t know how they do it, especially with only 15 minutes to catch the other up with everything that has gone on since the last swap! (I’m so happy the Twin Twist is back. It was one of my favorites, and I have been anxiously awaiting its return.)

On tonight’s episode, Becky and Shelli make their nominations for eviction.

See who Becky & Shelli nominate tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Celebrity Family Feud, BattleBots, Food Network Star, The Last Ship, Falling Skies, Humans, Halt and Catch Fire, and The Brink.

waywardpines72smallOn last week’s episode of Wayward Pines, we got even more answers. Pilcher gave Ethan a tour of the facilities and explained how project volunteers have devoted their lives to keeping the town’s system running from behind the scenes. The tour ended at the cryo room, where hundreds of bodies were in frozen storage. Meanwhile Kate, Ted, and Harold were plotting some sort of secret plan in a room that was outside of the town’s surveillance. We later discovered that Harold was actually building a bomb. And elsewhere, Theresa grew suspicious of an oddly vacant plot of land in town, but when she questioned Bill about it, he told her to mind her own business.

It will be interesting to see the full extent of this secret radical faction of townsfolk who don’t like what’s going on — how many people are in this group, how much do they know about what’s really going on, and what is their ultimate goal? What does Harold plan to blow up with his bomb? If he wipes out the security gates, will the town suddenly be overrun with Abbies? And at that point, is there any way to hide the truth from the rest of Wayward Pines? Will Theresa investigate Plot 33, and if so, what will she find? Will Ethan and Ben let each other know what they know…and will they clue Theresa in on what’s going on?

I have thoroughly enjoying this series and can’t believe we only have 4 episodes left!

On tonight’e episode, “Betrayal,” Ethan finds a bomb planted in his car, which leads him to question people he thought he could trust; Kate and Harold discuss their fertility issues with Nurse Pam; Ben’s relationship with Amy heats up.

See what Ethan does about the bomb tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Big Brother, Under the Dome, The Astronaut Wives Club, Rookie Blue, Hannibal, and Complications.

celebrityfamilyfeudsmallMy first pick tonight is the season premiere of Celebrity Family Feud. The regular version of this show is one my son and I love watching together, especially the ones with current host, Steve Harvey, and the long-ago Richard Dawson. The celebrity edition first aired back in 2008, and tonight’s it’s back for a new round. It will feature two celebrities competing against one another with their families to win money for their favorite charity. We’ll get two episodes a night for three weeks.

Tonight’s two games feature Anthony Anderson (black-ish) and his family – mother Doris, brother Derrick, Aunt Denise, & sister-in-law Carol – versus Toni Braxton (7-time Grammy Award-winning artist) and her sisters – Tamar, Trina, Towanda, & Traci. That will be followed by Monica Potter (Parenthood) and her family – mother Nancy, and sisters Jessica, Brigette, & Kerry – versus Curtis Stone (Australian celebrity chef) and his – wife Lindsay Price (Eastick, Lipstick Jungle) and Lindsay’s father Bill, mother Diane, & brother Bryan.

To see which teams of celebrities and their families take home the prize for their charities, tune in to ABC at 8/7c.

complications618smallI’m always leery of new dramas if they aren’t procedurals, because I have such strict guidelines on what I like and dislike. So when I first heard about USA Network’s latest, Complications, I figured I’d give it a shot, especially since I was such a huge fan of Burn Notice (which was created by Matt Nix, who created this as well), but I honestly wasn’t expecting to enjoy it enough to continue. I’ve watched the first two episodes (the two that are airing tonight), and I loved it so far. There’s lots of exciting drama and tension and a ton of emotion that made my heart clench. Jason O’Mara stars as John Ellison, an ER doctor, who intervenes in a drive-by shooting and saves a little boy’s life. But things escalate quickly when he learns that the boy is a gang leader’s son and now he’s expected to keep the boy alive as the rival gang tries yet again to kill him. The series also stars Jessica Szohr as ER nurse Gretchen Polk (whose character has great chemistry with Ellison, who is – unfortunately, in my opinion. LOL – married), Beth Riesfraf (loved her in Leverage) as Samantha Ellison (John’s wife), and Lauren Stamile (a stick-in-the-mud, rigid ER doctor).

On tonight’s double episodes, “Pilot/Infection,” disillusioned ER doctor John Ellison finds his existence transformed when he intervenes in a drive-by shooting, saving a young boy’s life. When he learns the boy is still marked for death, John is compelled to keep him alive. In part 2, when Antoine disappears from his hospital bed, John must find him quickly or face the consequences of losing a gang leader’s son. ER nurse Gretchen Polk tries to convince a combative patient to lie about her medical condition in order to keep John clear of their supervisor’s suspicions.

Don’t miss the exciting new drama tonight on USA Network at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Beat Bobby Flay.

bones514smallLast week, we got a double episode of Bones, and it was definitely double the treat. First, Bones was confronted with a case that reminded her of her own childhood when a teenage girl’s body was found and it seemed that bullying was the cause…and it was, but not in the way that her bullies actually killed her. She killed herself and made it seem like they had done it. It’s very sad that things like that happen, that bullying is so bad that kids feel like they don’t want to live. As a parent, that’s one of the scariest things we ever have to go through, watching our children get bullied and hoping our children are strong enough to get through it. The second episode was all about the case of the baker ex-cons and the ritualistic killings. Alex Rockwell, whom the team helped put away for the killings, was less than a day from being executed when Brennan found what she thought was evidence to prove he was actually innocent of the crime. She, Booth, and the rest of the squints worked their butts off to find the actual proof they needed, and they did it just in time. Rockwell was saved only moments before the lethal injection would’ve killed him, and Booth and Aubrey were able to arrest the real killer…none other than the bakery owner, Roger Flender. My heart just ached for Rockwell as he accepted his fate and wrote a letter to his son. I was very glad the team was able to solve the case just in time.

That brings us to this week… A few episodes ago, Arastoo left Washington DC for Iran, where his brother was dying. He told Cam that he had to go, as he didn’t want his brother dying alone. Cam was terrified for him, as she knew it wouldn’t be safe for him and he might possibly be arrested. Tonight’s episode is very exciting, as it goes back to that story line when Booth and Cam go over to Iran to rescue him when things become complicated and scary. Plus, Booth’s gambling story line comes back to haunt him and Brennan, which I’m both looking forward to and not! I’ve seen the ep and loved it. It really was everything I’d hoped for and more, but I’m SO GLAD it isn’t the finale! *laugh*

On tonight’s episode, “The Murder in the Middle East,” when a powerful member of the Iranian parliament kidnaps Arastoo (guest star Pej Vahdat) to have him aid in a murder case, Booth and Cam head to Iran, and the rest of the Jeffersonian team must race against the clock to help expose the killer. Meanwhile, Brennan learns the truth about Booth’s growing gambling habit, and she turns to Aubrey for help to keep her and Christine safe from her husband’s menacing bookie.

See if Booth and Cam can save Arastoo and if Aubrey can keep Bones and Christine safe tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Beat Bobby Flay & Lip Sync Battle.
