bobsburgers1018smallTonight’s annual Halloween-themed episode of Bob’s Burgers airs at a special later time, and this one may be my favorite one of these episodes yet! The Belchers are such an entertaining TV family – while what they say is often ridiculous, they still feel like very real characters, and this is very much due to the amazing chemistry between the voice actors. And the writing is so witty and hilarious that I always have a smile throughout each episode. While I love all of the characters, Gene is definitely my favorite, and he is on fire in tonight’s episode. Well, not literally – though I wouldn’t put it past these writers – but he does have so many great one-liners! And to top it all off, at the end of tonight’s episode Boyz 4 Now makes a return appearance for a delightfully cheesy music video.

Bob’s Burgers is always a highlight of my Sunday night TV viewing, but after tonight, the show will be off the air for a few weeks, when it returns with a Thanksgiving episode (already?!). While the series is currently only in its fifth season, it has already been picked up through its eighth season! So I look forward to plenty more fun Belcher family adventures to come…and to seeing how they top tonight’s hilarious Halloween episode next year!

On tonight’s episode, “Hauntening,” as the Belchers ready for Halloween, Louise reveals that she’s never been scared by anything, so the family pays a visit to a spooky haunted house, where things start going bump in the night.

See if the haunted house scares Louise tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, Once Upon a Time, Quantico, The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Last Man on Earth, The Walking Dead, Talking Dead, The Leftovers, Project Greenlight, Homeland, and Robot Chicken.

thewalkingdead1011smallTonight, the original The Walking Dead returns for the start of its sixth season. When we last left off, the folks at Alexandria finally got the wake-up call they needed after Father Gabriel stupidly (and intentionally) left the gates open. There was also a tense moment in the season finale where Nicholas tried to kill Glenn, who somehow miraculously survived. Meanwhile, Morgan showed up in time to save Daryl and Aaron, who had been snared in the Wolves’ trap. Morgan and the others arrived back in town just in time to see Rick execute Pete for killing Deanna’s husband. And Michonne took her sword back down from the wall, realizing that there would be no rest for them.

Why hasn’t anyone killed the annoying Father Gabriel yet?! If he wants to kill himself, he should just go ahead and do it and not make everyone else pay for his own feelings of guilt! How are things at Alexandra going to change with these latest events, and what will Morgan think of the new Rick? And will Rick and his crew be able to whip the folks of Alexandria into shape so they will they be ready when the murderous forehead-carving “Wolves” ultimately find their way to this town?

On tonight’s 90-minute premiere, “First Time Again,” Rick and the group continue to have trouble assimilating into Alexandria; and a new threat could bring them closer together or drive them further apart.

Find out the new threat tonight on AMC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, Once Upon a Time, Quantico, Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy, The Last Man on Earth, Talking Dead, The Leftovers, Project Greenlight, and Homeland.

quantico927smallJoining ABC’s Sunday lineup tonight is the new drama Quantico. There has been a major terrorist attack on New York City, and the FBI suspect that it may have been initiated by a sleeper agent within the organization. As the investigation happens in the present, the show jumps back nine months earlier as a diverse crop of new trainees enters the FBI academy in Quantico, VA. Could one of these new recruits be the terrorist who masterminded the attack?

In the opener, we meet all the trainees, learn some of their secrets, and see some shifty behavior that makes all of them look like potential suspects. At the heart of the series is Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra), a tough, independent young woman who has a knack for reading people and noticing small details. The other agents include former Marine Ryan Booth (Jake McLaughlin, Believe), Mormon Eric Packer (Brian Jacob Smith, Stargate Universe), devout Muslim Nimah Amin (Yasmine Al Massri, Crossbones), girl-next-door Shelby Wyatt (Johanna Braddy, UnREAL), former CPA Simon Asher (Tate Ellington, The Mindy Project), golden boy Caleb Haas (Graham Rogers, Revolution), and instructors Liam O’Connor (Josh Hopkins, Cougar Town) and Miranda Shaw (Aunjanue Ellis, The Book of Negroes).

When I first saw the ads for the series, I had written it off as Grey’s Anatomy meets How To Get Away With Murder. However, I was pleasantly surprised by tonight’s premiere – it introduces some interesting characters, premise, and central mystery. It mixes some humor in with the drama and gives viewers some very unexpected and exciting twists. I look forward to seeing how it all plays out in the coming weeks as I try to figure out which of the recruits is hiding the biggest secret of them all!

On tonight’s premiere, “Run,” the new recruits arrive at the FBI Academy, where they are tasked with discovering a redacted secret about one of their classmates.

Meet the new recruits tonight on ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording CSI, Once Upon a Time, Blood & Oil, Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy, The Last Man on Earth, The Strain, The Great Food Truck Race, Fear the Walking Dead, Project Greenlight, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

brooklyn99517smallLast week’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine was a lot of fun. I love seeing Jake work closely with Holt. And of course, throw Charles into the mix, and his bromance with Jake is always funny. Jake was positive from the beginning that the man’s murder had to do with the 21-million that had been stolen years before. In the end, he had the wrong bad guy pegged as the killer, but the motive was correct, and they caught the killer and recovered the money. Of course, that was what Madeline Wuntch wanted, as it gave her the excuse to “promote” Holt to head of the Public Relations Department — perfect for someone with Captain Holt’s effusive personality. *snort* In the B story, Rosa, Amy, & Gina helped Terry when a class from the magnet school Terry was trying to get his twins into came and visited the precinct. Although it didn’t go as smoothly as they would’ve liked, in the end, the kids learned a lot and Terry’s twins got off the wait list for the magnet school preschool.

Questions going into tonight’s season finale: Will we get any progress on the Jake/Amy front? Will Captain Holt’s “promotion” stick? I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and I could answer those for you, but I won’t. 😉 I will say it’s another great ep, so don’t miss it!

On tonight’s episode, “Johnny and Dora,” Jake and Amy go undercover to catch Brooklyn’s most notorious identity thief, and the case brings them closer together — very close. Meanwhile, the entire precinct is caught off-guard when one of their own says goodbye to the Nine-Nine. Kyra Sedgwick & Nick Cannon guest star.

To see what happens with Jake & Amy as well as who says goodbye, tune in to FOX at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Spring Baking Championship, & Cutthroat Kitchen.
