Tonight, the third season of TBS’s castaway comedy Wrecked comes to a close with a special one-hour finale. This season the castaways found themselves trapped on the private island belonging to a wealthy hunter named Declan, who forced them to participate in a deadly Hunger Games-like competition. Last week Karen was shot in the stomach with an arrow by Chet, who seemed to have gone wild, calling himself the Chettywompwomp. As Karen recounted her surprising love story to Florence, Danny and Owen went to look for a first aid kit and ended up at Chet’s lair. They were captured and tied up, but Owen challenged Chet to a fight. Meanwhile, Todd, Pack, and Jess were in another part of the island when Jess’s bracelet suddenly stopped working. This meant that she could now safely walk through the shock pylons without being killed. As she passed through the barrier headed to disable the generator, the hunters observed this on their monitor and started to panic.

Will Owen and Danny survive their fight with Chet and get back to Karen in time with the first aid kit? Can Jess disable the generator in time, and will she ever get her memory back about her relationship with Todd? Can the group stop the hunters and escape from the island? This has been another fun season, and I look forward to seeing how it comes to a close. This show always does a great job of wrapping up each season’s storyline while also leaving things open for a future season.

On the first half of tonight’s finale, “Mrs. Stanwick,” the survivors attempt to turn the tables on the rich and lure them into a trap. Then, in “The Island Family,” barricaded in the mansion and surrounded by the rich, the survivors mount one last attempt to escape Declan’s island.

Find out how the season ends tonight on TBS starting at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording FBI, This Is Us, New Amsterdam, The Gifted, Flipping Out, Mayans M.C., and The Purge.

My pick is the first of tonight’s new CBS comedies, The Neighborhood. Dave Johnson (Max Greenfield, New Girl) is a friendly guy from the Midwest. When his wife Gemma (Beth Behrs, 2 Broke Girls) gets a job as a school principal in LA, they move from Michigan with their young son, Grover (Hank Greenspan). They quickly learn that their new neighborhood is…slightly different from their previous one, but it doesn’t faze them a bit. Unfortunately, their opinionated next-door neighbor, Calvin (Cedric the Entertainer), is a little more than wary of the newcomers, while his gracious wife, Tina (Tichina Arnold, Everybody Hates Chris, Happily Divorced, Daytime Divas), rolls out the welcome wagon. Their younger son, Marty (Marcel Spears, The Mayor), thinks the Johnsons could be good for the community and finds his dad’s attitude about the Johnsons very funny, and their unemployed older son, Malcolm (Sheaun McKinney, Vice Principals), finds that Dave may finally be someone who understands him.

I haven’t seen the pilot, but the trailer looks pretty funny. I really like Max Greenfield, Beth Behrs, & Tichina Arnold, and Marcel Spears’s character Marty is amusing in the trailer. Cedric the Entertainer is hit or miss for me in terms of how much I like him, depending on how over the top the character is. But I think I’ll find the show and him funny this time, so I’m quite looking forward it.

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” a friendly Midwesterner moves his family to a Los Angeles neighborhood next door to Calvin, who’s concerned the newcomers will disrupt the culture on the block.

Meet the Johnsons and Butlers tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Happy Together, 9-1-1, Halloween Baking Championship, Magnum P.I., & Whose Line Is It Anyway?, .

I’m so excited that FOX’s Sunday animated comedies return tonight for all new seasons. While I still enjoy the long-running The Simpsons (starting its 30th season!) and Family Guy (its 17th season), relative newcomer Bob’s Burgers has easily become my favorite of the bunch. Whether it’s frustrated Bob dealing with a restaurant issue, Linda coming up with some wacky new idea to bring the family closer, Gene or Louise getting up to no good, or Tina having boy trouble, there’s always something fun and crazy going on in the Belcher household. No matter which family member(s) the main storyline revolves around on, there’s always loads of laughs, and some fun original song related to the events of the episode during the credits.

Tonight’s ninth season premiere brings back some of my favorite recurring characters on the show, the boy band Boyz 4 Now, because that usually means we are going to get a music-filled episode. I loved tonight’s premiere, which finds Boyz 4 Now coming town, auditioning for a replacement band member, and boy-crazy Tina constantly experiencing love-at-first-sight as she meets each potential new band member. The episode features several fun original musical numbers as Tina daydreams her elaborate relationships with each of the boys. The writers of this series are so creative and talented – each of the songs is written in a different style, showcasing the different types of boys Tina is falling for. Tonight’s episode is a great start to the season, and I can’t wait to see more of all three of the FOX animated Sunday comedies. It’s great to be able to check my TiVo To Do list and see brand new episodes listed!

On tonight’s premiere, “Just One of the Boyz 4 Now for Now,” convinced she’s met the love of her life, Tina disguises herself as a boy and sneaks into the Boyz 4 Now auditions to find him; Teddy asks the rest of the Belcher gang to nurse his baby rat back to health.

See if Tina finds her new man tonight on FOX at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording God Friended Me, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Fear the Walking Dead, You, and Kidding.

Friday night is finally here, and I am so excited I could burst! Tonight my television will be tuned into CBS all night for three of my favorite shows: MacGyver, Hawaii Five-0, and Blue Bloods. First up, let’s discuss MacGyver.

Last season we left off with Mac learning that his dad was actually Overwatch and had been in charge of him all along. This didn’t make him overly happy. He was incredibly upset that Maddy had lied to him and that his father had been hiding in plain sight this whole time. After saving the day together, Mac decided he could no longer work for his dad or Maddy because he didn’t trust them. I understand where he’s coming from because how could you just move on after learning that your father had basically been controlling your future your whole life from the shadows? Hopefully Mac will decide to come back to Phoenix, because obviously nothing will be the same without him.

On tonight’s premiere, “Improvise,” three months after quitting the Phoenix Foundation and moving to Nigeria, Mac puts aside his differences with his father and returns when he hears Jack is the target of a murderous dictator he double-crossed.

To see how this homecoming goes, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.

Tonight, one of the best comedies of the last two years returns when The Good Place airs on NBC at 8pm. It’s a special hour of the show, which follows the afterlife of 4 morally dubious humans, one demon torment architect, & the lovely and polite robotic helper Janet. In case you forgot what happened at the end of last year’s rollercoaster ride of a season, let me remind you! After escaping from the fake “Good Place” to the central city that all angels, demons, and judges live in, the human stars Elanor, Chidi, Jason & Tahani get their moment before Judge Gen.

Played by Maya Rudolph, the judge was ready to have them all sent to “limbo’ style” Medium Places until a more formal decision could be made. Michael made an impassioned speech on behalf of the humans, and instead of the Medium Place, they instead re-inserted them all back into life, at the moment of death. They saved them all with a slight “push” to prevent their disastrous deaths. Struck by her near-death experience, Elanor decided to get her shit together. She quit her job and started working soliciting money for saving the environment. She even became a vegetarian. But after a half year, she grew bored of being good and opted for a Taylor Spliffed concert instead of work. (Yes, that’s a reggae band that covers Taylor Swift songs!)

Michael, who was monitoring them all, sneaked down to Earth to leave her a hint that led her to Chidi. After a night drinking together, Michael asked her, “What do we owe each other?” which led her to a YouTube video of Chidi lecturing on ethics & morality. And like totally sane people do, she tracked him down and flew to Australia to meet him. Cue season three!

On tonight’s episode, “Everything is Bonzer,” Michael intervenes in the near-death accidents of Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason on Earth, in hopes that a second chance at life allows them to become better versions of themselves.

Catch up with the gang tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching the premiere of the Murphy Brown reboot, because that’s just weird.
